Brian Pomeroy, MD, MEd, FAAP, MD, MEd, FAAP
Dr. Brian has been a Texan his entire life and along with his wife has chosen West Texas to raise their family. He was born and raised in the southeast Texas town of Nederland. He studied Psychology and Spanish at UT Austin and earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his pediatric internship and a year of residency at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. Living true to his family values, he then followed his wife to her pediatric residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to complete his final year of residency at Texas Tech as well.
Dr. Brian is board certified in Pediatrics with subspecialty certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. For 10 years he took care of hospitalized children at both UMC and Covenant Children’s Hospital as faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He also taught medical students, residents, and fellows as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Vice Dean of Medical Education.
Dr. Brian met his wife Dr. Lisa Pomeroy while working as medical staff at Camp Sweeney, a summer camp for children with Type 1 Diabetes, sometimes referred to as juvenile diabetes. They shared values then of faith and family that continue to guide them today as they parent 3 amazing children. They know the difficulties of raising children in today’s society, but could not envision a better community to raise a family than here in West Texas.
Dr. Brian left a successful academic career to establish a private pediatrician office built on relationships, a small town feel, and quality care in 2022.
